Privacy Policy

Who we are

Our website address is: https://fetki.com/nastpad. Owned and operated by Fetki Solutions LLC.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Website subscribers

When visitors subscribe to (or follow) our website, an email address is collected and retained in a user profile that is otherwise empty. Email addresses may be used to notify subscribers about news pertaining to software updates, bugs, etc. When visitors unsubscribe from our website, the user profile and email address is deleted permanently.

Registered forum users

Visitors who register to the forum will need to provide a username, email address, and password. An email address is required to verify new users via a special link contained in an email sent to the new user. Email addresses may be used to notify registered users about news pertaining to software updates, bugs, etc., as well as notifications from any forum topics the user has subscribed to.

License key requests

When visitors request a trial or student license key via the request forms, an email address is collected and used to send an email to the visitor containing the requested license key. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) is then stored by us and the original email address discarded, hence no personal data is stored. The email hash is used to control multiple license key requests.

When activating a trial from within the NastPad application, a similar request is made to our website except instead of an email address hash, an anonymized machine GUID is stored instead.

License subscriptions

Visitors who purchase a license subscription will provide parameters including a name and email address. These parameters are stored on our server and are used to manage license subscriptions. The parameters are encoded into a license key and emailed to the subscriber. The email address is also used to uniquely identify customers via our payment gateway (see below).

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

If you contact us through our contact form, your email address and submission will be retained indefinitely for customer service purposes. We will not use this information for marketing or any other purpose. You can request for us to delete the stored information at any time.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you make a purchase through our website, your email address will be shared with our Stripe payment gateway service for the purpose of uniquely identifying you as a customer and sending invoices and receipts. Credit card details are collected directly by Stripe Checkout. Refer to https://stripe.com/us/checkout/legal for more information.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Website subscribers will have their provided email address stored indefinitely. The user can unsubscribe at any time to permanently delete their email address from our servers.

For registered forum users, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. If a user deletes their profile any forum topics or replies the user has created will be retained with the username changed to “Anonymous — Deleted”.

License subscription data will be stored indefinitely to manage subscriptions.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

License subscribers will have their email address sent to our payment gateway (stripe) whenever a new purchase or manage subscription request is made.
